2. Explain how you chose your team name
Right after the forming of our team we were all excited and started to work together for our first assigned job: “the team’s name”. Everyone followed a polite and positive approach to reach to our first common decision as a team and we all agreed to establish “VELOX” as our brand name mainly due to the creative simplicity and attractiveness. Not only the name is easy to remember but it also implicates “speed” (Latin word) as Demetris, our communication associate had already known.

10. Briefly outline the history of your team
Briefly outline the history of your team: Our team was formed on November 2014, a few days before the World Finals held in Abu Dhabi. We were so excited by the Greek and Cypriot teams remarkable course in the Finals that we set a goal for our team… to have comparable course in the World Finals 2015. In addition to designing and constructing our racing car, we believe that promoting our team and our sponsors is a very important aspect of the competition. In order to inform people about our team, our sponsors and the competition we participated in several activities. In detail we: (a) organized charity bazars, (b) presented a project about F1 Aerodynamics in the Pancyprian Students-Teachers conference in Science, (c) presented a project about aerodynamics and energy saving in our school conference, (d) participated, with our own pit display, in the Autofix Show 2015 organized by our golden sponsor Kapodistrias Automotive Parts. Since June 21st our team is the Champion of the Cyprus National F1 in Schools Competition.

13. What do you think makes your World Final team unique from other teams?
We are achievers, working hard in order to reach our peak potential.
14. Magic moment - What has been the most exciting F1 in Schools experience your team has had so far?
Winning the Championship exceeded our most generous expectations. Most of the teams participating in the National Finals were very competitive.
15. We can laugh now - Tell us about one of your team’s funniest moments, maybe it wasn't so funny at the time!
In our struggle to translate from our mother language (Greek) to English, we came up with totally different meanings that the ones we intended.
16. What is the biggest challenge in this competition?
The biggest challenge in this competition is the proper coordination and cooperation of our team members. It is vital not to lack skills in any aspect of the competition requirements.
17. What are you most looking forward to at the WFs?
We are looking forward for this amazing week, to interrelate with other students who have been experiencing similar challenges that we have all met. We are also looking forward to seeing our design ideas transformed into action through racing.
18. What are your expectations for the WFs?
We wish to make our teachers, school and Cyprus proud by taking a step forward compared to our country’s previous years performances. We also expect to live unique and fascinating moments that will mark the rest of our lives.
19. Do you watch/are you interested in F1? Who’s your favourite driver(s)?
All members of our team are very fond of the F1 races. We are always being kept updated with the latest news and actions concerning the championship. Most of us are great supporters of Lewis Hamilton and are very happy to see him on the first place of the 2015 drivers championship.
