TEAM PROFILES
T01 - FORDCELERITAS - ROMANIA
Romanian team Ford Celeritas, with a name inspired through a combination of the name of their title sponsor and the Latin word for speed, have learned three key skills in the competition: time management, risk management and teamwork. Due to lack of experience, the team has found the competition to be a challenge so far, but is more than ready to take on the other teams!

T02 - KINNAREE RACING - THAILAND
Entering the competition under a name based on Thai mythology is Kinnaree Racing, who have been working non-stop, often until late at night, to ensure that they succeed. Kinnaree Racing have developed unique and sustainable materials for their cars, using a combination of resin and soot from a car exhaust to create the front wing and wheels, and recycled bottles to make the rear wing.

TO3 - FALCON SPEED - FRANCE
Falcon Speed is one of two teams from France competing in these World Finals. The team has faced big challenges and setbacks - such as losing sponsors due to reasons out of their control, yet they have maintained their ambition and have developed the FS-22, on which they have attempted to make the wheels use the Magnus effect.

T04 - IN MOTION - AUSTRALIA
Heading into the World Finals with a determined and confident mindset is team In Motion - an all-girls team from Launceston, Australia, who are more than ready to succeed in a male-dominated field. In Motion has already achieved success in previous years, with the team being placed in the top three in all the competitions in which they have participated.

T05 - AMM RACING - VIETNAM
Action Matters Most! That’s the motto that this team goes by and the name they hope to have announced as winners of the Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals 2022. The team has faced lots of challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic limiting their access to shipping and manufacturing machinery. However, they are not letting that get in their way and are more determined than ever to succeed.

T06 - TEAM BITARA - MALAYSIA
A team with a lot to prove this year is team Bitara from Malaysia, who have proclaimed themselves as unbeatable with their name, which translates as “no rival”. They have been exceptionally sustainable with their manufacturing, making sure to reuse any waste they could in a way which benefitted their manufacturing process, such as using the post-machining dust and resin to create key chains.

T07 - AQUEOUS - AUSTRALIA
With a team name derived from the Latin word for water, team Aqueous has been creative in every aspect of the build up to the World Finals. They are extremely active on social media, whether that be on their official accounts, or on their meme page, where they embrace their humour and gain traction through F1 in Schools-related memes. The team members have been around since 2020, but as two separate teams, and in 2021, the two teams joined forces to take maximum advantage of each team’s skillsets.

T08 - TONALTECH RACING TEAM - MEXICO
Tonaltech Racing Team from Mexico was originally formed in October 2017 and since this time has taken in new members to evolve and keep the team’s name in the competition. They are very excited to be a part of the competition as well as being able to attend the Finals in person after a long period of working virtually.

T09 - SIRIUS LUCIBUS - CHINA
One of our newest star teams is Sirius Lucibus, who have only been together since January 2022, meaning they’ve had to work harder than ever to make it to the World Finals. Although they won’t be attending in person, due to covid restrictions, they will be up there in the night sky and on the big screen, competing virtually. It’s no surprise that their favourite F1 racer is the first Chinese driver to race in Formula 1, Zhou Guanyu.

T10 - SN - CHINA
A team bringing an explosive amount of energy to the World Finals is team SN, also known as Supernova. The team is new to the challenge and has worked with very little resources, yet they haven’t let anything get in their way! They aim to prove that there shouldn’t be a gender bias within STEM and Formula 1, with their favourite F1 driver being Maria Teresa de Filippis, the first female F1 driver in history.

T11 - MOMENTUM RACINGTEAM - GERMANY
A team with a force that may be hard to stop is Momentum Racingteam from Germany. The team is highly-decorated with achievements so far, including being crowned German Champions and having attended six championships, as well as two National Finals. Although just a team of three, they are proving themselves to be a major force to be reckoned with.

T12 - GRECO RACING TEAM - GREECE
Launching themselves into the World Finals is our eco-focused team from Greece, Greco Racing. The team aims to be as sustainable as possible, with one of the members, Jason, planning on pursuing this as a career, making an impact using knowledge he’s gained about sustainability. The team aims not only to win the competition, but also to environmentally sensitise the next generation through their green approach.

T13 - SLK RACING - SAUDI ARABIA
Zooming into the World Finals is SLK Racing, named after the fastest Arabian dog, the Saluki. The name has been chosen because it symbolises their country, Saudi Arabia, and also because their car reaches similar speeds to the Saluki. The team is extremely confident and believes that it has what it takes to become Aramco F1 in Schools World Champions 2022.

T14 - HELIOS RACING - INDIA
Inspired by the Greek God of the Sun and NASA’s Helios 2 spacecraft, Helios Racing wants to leave a lasting impression and be a huge presence amongst the other teams. While they wish they were there in person, the team is confident that they can celebrate victory virtually from their hometown of Jammu, India.

T15 - ANEMOI RACING - ENGLAND
Hopefully the wind is on their side when it comes to racing their car, as this four-girl team is appropriately named after the four Greek gods of the wind. The London-based team is passionate about STEM and recently won the Development Class at the F1 in Schools National Finals, despite it being their first year in the competition.

T16 - KINGSPAN RACING - IRELAND
Entering the World Finals from Ireland this year are Ted Kravitz fanatics, Kingspan Racing. The team is currently in the build-up to starting university, so the biggest challenge that they have faced is balancing exam study and preparations for the World Finals. However, they have made it to the Finals and will be attending Silverstone in person to see their car potentially take the victory.

T17 - SBA AVIDITY RACING - UNITED KINGDOM
It’s no surprise that SBA Avidity Racing has made it to the World Finals, especially with a name which relates to chemistry, because this group clearly has the correct chemistry to make a perfectly crafted team. The team has a long list of achievements and, with only three members, you can only be impressed by them. Like other teams, they aim to be sustainable and have implanted wild flower seeds into their compostable pit boards, which will then bloom in the meadow near to their HQ.

T18 - FUTURE RACING - IRELAND
Future Racing is entering this year’s competition with the aim of proving the gender stereotypes wrong. As Ireland’s first all-female team to reach the World Finals, they have the knowledge and ambition to challenge anyone who thinks they aren’t as good as the other teams. They have managed to gain the support of professional footballer, Rio Ferdinand and Irish Businessman, Eddie Jordan, and with support from such high-profile figures, there is no doubt that this team is going to turn heads.

T19 - FIBONACCI - SCOTLAND
Joining us in 2022 for the World Finals is team Fibonacci from Scotland. The team has been innovative with their car design and has devised a magnetic rear wing which disengages when the car hits the brushes. It will be a spectacle to watch such a creatively-designed car, with shiny gold vinyl wrap! With recent challenges due to Brexit and Covid-19, the team has had to work tirelessly in order to get themselves ready to compete at Silverstone.

T20 - VISION RACING - GREECE
This team has their vision set on one thing this year and that is winning the World Finals at Silverstone. Vision Racing, a Greek team located in Athens, will be joining us in person and hope to see their car join the long line of champions. They have been constantly active with promotion on social media and have even managed to meet with the Prime Minister of Greece, as well as gaining traction through TV and radio appearances.

T21 - QUANTUM RACING - INDIA
Another team competing virtually this year is team Quantum from India. They have aimed to follow a path of perfection and have delved deep into each miniscule detail when creating their car - hence the reason for their team’s name. They have not let the pandemic lockdown hinder their progress and have used their innovative mindset to create a meeting model called VirtuReal, which attempts to imitate the physical meeting environment.

T22 - AXION - AUSTRALIA
Joining us from Australia is team Axion. They believe that their car will be the best on the track, and with their track record so far, they could be a force to reckon with when it comes to the finals. The team has missed a lot during the pandemic and they have since become more appreciative of the small things in life. Sadly, they will be not be joining us in person this year, but they will not let that dampen their spirits.

T23 - AERIOS - FRANCE
Our French collaboration team comes in the form of Team Aerios, who describe themselves as both competitive and united as a team. Team Aerios were very proud to have assisted with the launch of the F1 in Schools Centre of Excellence, which is a huge achievement for them.

T24 - BLACKOUT - WALES
Now this team is fast …. very fast. Team BLACKOUT has developed a car which was the fastest in UK 2021, with a mind-blowing speed of 1.036 seconds. They have been extremely innovative with the design and manufacturing of their car, and with their drive and ambition, they are set on winning the World Finals.

T25 - SPARK SESI-SENAI SC - BRAZIL
Joining us from Brazil is SPARK SESI-SENAI SC. The word ‘spark’ not only relates to the speed of F1 cars, but also the spark in each individual team member, which when working together, can create a huge impact. Inspired by three-time world champion, Ayrton Senna, this team is determined to win. They have been extremely proactive in the build up to the World Finals, even travelling 1,000 km, taking a total of 21 hours, using their own money, in the hope that they would be sponsored – and were successful!

T26 - PROPULASAR - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES / MALAYSIA
Our collaboration team from United Arab Emirates and Malaysia has formed an amazing alliance, with team Propero from United Arab Emirates, who won the rookie national finals, joining team Pulsar from Malaysia, who were the Malaysia National Finals runners up in 2021. Together, they are PROPULSAR and their team attire is made from recycled plastic bottles kindly manufactured by a non-profit which has sponsored the team.

T27 - AERTH RACING - NORTH MACEDONIA
Our cheery and hardworking team from North Macedonia is Aerth Racing, who despite the difficulties of working together in person, due to Covid-19, have stayed in sync with one another and have developed an innovatively-designed car, which they hope will win the World Finals this year. They are also proud to be the first North Macedonian team to compete at a World Finals.

T28 - PHAROS - CHINA
Attending Silverstone via the big screen is team Pharos. The team has embraced their creative skills and used their modern-day business mindset to turn their illustrations into NFTs - potentially being one of the first F1 in Schools teams to enter the metaverse. They have faced many issues along the way, due to the pandemic, but have remained confident in their ability to contend for the winning position at the World Finals.

T29 - ECOLEST9 - MALAYSIA
Attending the World Finals virtually this year is team ECOLEST9. The team has been super-creative and has implemented nano technology into their pit display, which uses materials that generate an electric charge, instead of using fossil fuels, therefore minimising their damage to the environment. Despite the constraints of the pandemic, they have remained confident in themselves that they will get the job done and leave as champions.

T30 - AURORA BOREALIS - MACAU
A team founded in March 2022 is Aurora Borealis from Macau, being the first appearance of this country at a World Finals. They set up quite close to the World Finals, but have made the most of their time, designing and developing a race-winning car. The team is passionate about their engineering and is hoping that their creativity and innovation will get them to the finish line first.

T31 - ASCENSION - THAILAND
Aiming to ascend to the top step of the podium is Ascension, a team from Thailand which is never afraid of a challenge and always attempts to rise above any obstacle they face. Due to the team having to operate online, testing had to be completed through computer simulation, as testing the car physically was limited. After competing in the 2020(21) virtual World Finals, they are back, stronger than ever, to try to win this year’s event.

T32 - AETOS RACING - LUXEMBOURG
A team flying in from Luxembourg is Aetos Racing, who have an eagle eye on the trophy as they head to the World Finals 2022, representing this newcomer country. They are National Champions and set the fastest recorded time at the Regionals. The team understands that the youth of today are the future of engineering and, as part of their promotion, they organised a five-day event for over 400 9–12-year-olds to engage in creative motorsport-related engineering activities. They also created a museum, which served as a platform to educate students about sustainability and gender issues within motorsport, leading them to become the youngest-ever to receive a grant from the Luxembourg National Research Fund.

T33 - LAUNCHPAD RACING - INDIA
Launching their car virtually all the way from New Delhi, India, is team Launchpad Racing. They are set to become India’s first carbon neutral F1 in Schools team and have created their own development software which calculates the race time and - thanks to their generosity - the software is made available for other teams to use. They are confident in the car that they have created, even given that restrictions stopped them from completing physical testing.

T34 - VOLTA RACING - BRAZIL / IRELAND
Our collaboration team from Brazil and Ireland believe that they are the strongest collaboration team on the grid and that their innovative wheel system is going to carry them to the finish line in first place. The team attended the virtual 2020(21) World Finals and just missed out on being placed in the top three, but this year they are back, ready to compete once again.

T35 - ARION - SAUDI ARABIA
Charging through to this year’s World Finals is team Arion, whose name is inspired by a horse from Greek mythology. Arion was a heroic and divine horse, bred by the Greek gods, which went on to win many races. The name therefore serves as a metaphor for team Arion, as they have created a car that they believe will come out on top.

T36 - VORTENOVA - IRELAND
Entering this year’s Finals with a ton of energy is team Vortenova from Ireland. With the loss of two team members, Vortenova has made it to the World Finals against all odds and is more than ready to take on the other 52 teams. The team has featured on national television promoting themselves for the World Finals and they are confident that they have what it takes to succeed.

T37 - LUPUS RACING - GREECE
Team Lupus is doing its part for the community and has entered this year’s World Finals with a car made entirely out of plastic, recycled from their town’s rubbish. The team is a combination of two smaller teams, which competed in the National Finals. Given the situation with Covid-19, the two teams have not yet met each other in person and will be doing so for the first time at Silverstone!

T38 - ZENITH UAE - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
The UAE National Champions are back again from Dubai. Zenith received the Sustainability Award at the 2020(21) World Finals and this time are aiming for the most prestigious award: World Champions. The team were extremely privileged to be invited to the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to promote their team and sustainability. They have also been doing their part for society and travelled to Kenya to teach underprivileged students how to build their own miniature Formula 1 cars.

T39 - POCADORES RACING TEAM - BRAZIL
Bursting on to the scene this year is Pocadores Racing Team from Brazil. They are ecstatic about coming to the World Finals and are enthusiastic about everything they do. Engineering is something that Pocadores is passionate about and, with their achievements at the Nationals, they are more than ready to challenge the other teams from around the world.

T40 - ECLIPSE - UNITED KINGDOM
Team Eclipse will be speeding down the track this year at Silverstone. They have stated that they are always up for a challenge and that they want to inspire the younger generation of engineers by showing them the fun side of STEM in the most environmentally-friendly way possible. The team demonstrates their huge heart through their support for other competitors on the F1 in Schools blog, showing that its not all about winning, but also about offering a helping hand and uplifting people.

T41 - HYDRON - AUSTRALIA
The National Champions of Australia will be arriving in person at Silverstone, and they are more than ready to take risks without fear. Team Hydron has been working super-hard and has gained a huge string of achievements, acquiring 19 sponsors, who will be supporting them at the World Finals. The team has had to be extra resilient this year, due to them having to balance their final years of school and the demanding requirements of the competition.

T42 - K-WINGS - PORTUGAL
Soaring through to the World Finals is K-Wings from Portugal. The team has been hard at work over the past year and won’t stop until they reach their goal of becoming Aramco F1 in Schools World Champions. During the design process of their car, they have created an original axle system, along with a sticker mould to allow them to glue stickers onto the wheels perfectly.

T43 - LEBEN FORCER AKRON - MEXICO
Named using words meaning ‘living force’, Leben Forcer Akron hope to be an unstoppable force on the track and bring the winners’ trophy back home to Mexico. The team is filled with highly ambitious members, who have all become best friends through their teamwork. Working mostly online, due to Covid, the team has formed a bond that will last a lifetime, and taking part in the World Finals can only make that friendship stronger.

T44 - ZENITH CYPRUS - CYPRUS
Describing themselves as a very dedicated and passionate team, which loves Formula 1, is team Zenith Cyprus. The team has five years of experience behind them and aims to excel in the competition, with the ambition to become Aramco F1 in Schools World Champions. They love every aspect of Formula 1, from the racing to the engineering which goes on behind the scenes.

T45 - BIATIA RACING TEAM - SPAIN
With a name inspired by the 15th century name for their home city, Biatia Racing Team from Baeza, Spain, is confident that their car has the potential to win the World Championships. The team has been very adventurous in the design process of their car, having made several improvements to their previous year’s design, to make it as fast as possible. F1 in Schools has inspired members of the team to strive to become Formula 1 engineers.

T46 - QUANTUM GC - CYPRUS / GREECE
Our collaboration from Greece and Cyprus comes in the form of team Quantum GC, who are passionate about Formula 1 and aspire to future careers in business and science. The team has faced the challenge of setting up via the internet, but they have not let that stop them from creating a car which will be difficult to beat.

T47 - TEAM ISTIOPHIX - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
After winning the United Arab Emirates National Final, Team Istiophix has made it to the World Finals. The team’s name comes from the scientific name for the sailfish, Istiophorus, which can reach speeds of 100km/h, serving as a metaphor for their car speeding down the track. The team is using its knowledge and experience to mentor their Junior Team and provide them with the necessary knowledge to guide them to success when they, in turn, reach the World Finals.

T48 - TEAM COALITION - SAUDI ARABIA
Team Coalition is utilising each member’s skillset to form the ultimate team and create the ultimate F1 in Schools car. The team is heavily inspired by the world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah. Not only does this represent the speed of the team’s car, but also how they must work together to survive. The team knows that it’s not a challenge that can be taken on by one person and is working hard as a team to bring the winning trophy back to Saudi Arabia.

T49 - SWORDFISH - BRAZIL
Our second fish-themed team is SwordFish from Brazil. The team has developed its own project management app to increase the efficiency of their team planning and has described themselves as underdogs, who always surprise themselves when it comes to race day. Team SwordFish makes sure to learn from previous mistakes and always comes back stronger and better than before.

T50 - DRAGON RACING - CHINA / MEXICO
Dragon Racing is a collaboration team with members from China and Mexico, and it is amazing to see how this collaboration has managed to co-operate and build a car that is going to race at the World Finals. They love the incredible speeds that Formula 1 cars can reach, and their favourite drivers include seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton and rookie driver, Zhou Guanyu.

T51 - SONIC BOOM - GERMANY
Paying homage to breaking the sound barrier is team Sonic Boom, who also aspire to break barriers in every aspect of the competition. The members of this six-year-old team have achieved so much during their time with F1 in Schools and have made numerous contacts along the way, which will benefit them in their future careers. They are not afraid of a challenge and love to push their car to its limits.

T52 - VELOX PERFORMANCE RACING - BAHRAIN
Swiftly moving forward into the World Finals is Velox Performance Racing who are really proud of becoming school champions. Each member of the team has come from different backgrounds, and they believe it to be a special skill that they are able to work cohesively and with ease, regardless of the circumstances.

T53 - OPTIMUM - CYPRUS
This team is aiming for the optimum spot on the podium and that is the top step. Team OPTIMUM has been on a quest for perfection and even with the members of the group constantly changing, the Cypriots believe they can beat their rivals and bring back the winning trophy. Members of the team are avid Formula 1 fans and find the engineering side of the sport to be “insane”.
