Aramco F1 in Schools 2023 World Champions:

Recoil Racing, Germany

We are delighted to announce that the winners of the Aramco F1 in Schools 2023 World Finals is Recoil Racing from Marie-Therese-Gymnasium in Erlangen, Germany. Khalid Al Zamil, Public Affairs Vice President at Aramco, presented the trophy to the champions at the awards ceremony on Wednesday 13th September. The team received a full bursary scholarship to UCL Mechanical Engineering and an exclusive Singapore Grand Prix experience, which saw them presented with their trophy atop the podium at Marina Bay Circuit in front of a grandstand audience ahead of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix!

The panel of judges was chaired by former Jordan and Jaguar F1 Technical Director Gary Anderson, who noted the passion, creativity, and skill Recoil Racing put into their project. He said: “The judges and I were incredibly impressed by all the entries, but the members of Recoil Racing are worthy World Champions. Speed is not everything in this competition: project management, marketing, teamwork, innovation and communication all matter. Congratulations to Recoil Racing!"

2nd Place: Propulsion, Australia

In second place was Propulsion from Charles Campbell College! The team also took home the prestigious Best Engineer Car, sponsored by Williams Racing, which is a truly fantastic achievement.

​Commenting on the team's success,  Team Principal Noah Pelentsov from Propulsion said: “We’re lost for words. The teams here are amazing, so we didn’t know what was going to happen. It took countless hours and multiple collaborators to win this award. I’ve never been involved in something that I’ve enjoyed and got as much from as F1 in Schools.”

3rd Place: Nightingale, UK

A team of four from Robert May's School, Nightingale performed brilliantly throughout the event - making it to the finals of the Pirelli Knockout Competition, winning the Autodesk Pressure Challenge, and also securing 3rd overall.

 Team Manager Amber Mylrea from Nightingale said: “Just getting on the podium is insane. We would never have imagined it. There are so many amazing teams, so we can’t believe we got this far. There’s so much that goes into this competition. It’s not just about having the fastest car, although that did of course help. F1 in Schools has been life-changing.”
