Get your garage in order! All you’ll need is a pair of scissors, some glue, sticky tape and anything extra to make your model stand out.

STEP 2

Start manufacturing! Get your nimble fingers cutting and folding your designs. This part can be tricky but worth the effort.

STEP 3

Post your ideas on social media or ask a grown up to post your  ideas on social media and tag F1 in Schools. If you dont have a public Instagram account please send us your files to [email protected] and we will post it to our Instagram. You might be lucky enough to appear on our social media and have everyone see your car!

1. THE CHASSIS

The foundations are always the most important part of any construction; and when it comes to cars, having the perfect chassis is the most important thing. Lucky for you we have got the perfect one ready to go.

​Have you thought about:

• What could you use for wheels and axles?
  ​Hint: we hear milk lids and straws is a good start.
• What colours are going to look good?
  ​

Make sure your design is nice and sturdy.

2. THE BODY

Aerodynamics is the bread and butter of Formula 1. Now’s your time to make your car as streamlined as possible. To help get you going we have  provided a cool body net for you to customise.

There is more to think about:

• What do you want your car to look like? Think what bold colours will make your car stand out.
• Are there any modifications you can make to the body net?
• Keep thinking about how you could make your own body net.

3. THE VISION

You’ve seen how we would do it, now it’s your turn. Perhaps you will make a chassis and then a body or go straight for the final design.
Keep in mind the following:

• Is your design going to focus on downforce or lift?
• Have you thought about adding front and rear wings?
• What makes your design unique?
  
  

This is the time to catch the eye of Formula 1. Don’t forget to share your creations!
