F1® IN SCHOOLS PARTNERS WITH ZOOM

Picture
Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZM) will be the Official Unified Communications partner for the Aramco F1® in Schools World Finals 2020(21), the pinnacle of the F1® in Schools competition, and the largest global STEM education programme.

With travel restrictions in place in many countries, this year’s competition will be a hybrid experience for the 250 students participating. Many of the competition elements will use Zoom’s comprehensive communication services during the event which will be held from 4 – 8 June 2021.
The World Finals judging process will use Zoom breakout rooms for student teams to connect with the panels of experts drawn from industry and education sectors. Zoom will deliver the event content, and presentations from Formula 1® industry personnel, F1® in Schools alumni and invited guests during the event. Hosted from the F1® in Schools World Finals studio, Tom Deacon will anchor the event, presenting live racing, interviewing each competing student team and welcoming special guests live via the Zoom throughout the event.

The announcement of the F1® in Schools World Champions 2020(21) and award category winners, with Formula 1® President & CEO Stefano Domenicali joining live via Zoom, will be the highlight of the event. Hosted by the voice of F1® in Schools, David Croft, via Zoom, this celebration of the students’ achievements will be delivered to a huge global audience of families, friends, school peers, media, guests, and Formula 1®, STEM and education industry representatives.

This multi-faceted STEM competition embraces enterprise, design, engineering, marketing and teamwork.  Formula 1® is at the heart of the initiative, with students across the globe forming F1® teams in miniature to design, make, test and race an F1® in Schools car, competing regionally and nationally, with the best teams winning a place at the F1® in Schools World Finals.
UCL Mechanical Engineering scholarships are on offer to the World Champions, as well as the prestigious F1® in Schools World Champions trophy. Award category trophies supported by the Formula 1® teams are also highly prized.

Andrew Denford, Founder and Chairman, F1® in Schools, said: “Zoom recently became the official unified communications platform of Formula 1 and we are very fortunate to have been able to benefit from this and introduce Zoom into our World Finals event.

“This year, more than any other, communications technology will be key to the success of our event. Partnering with Zoom, a world leader in its field, will ensure that we can deliver a highly professional World Finals that will unite our teams from around the world so that they can be a part of this very prestigious global competition. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase the Zoom platform within the learning environment and demonstrate how it helps engage with students and their learning.”

“We are thrilled to support this multi-faceted STEM competition through our collaboration with Formula 1,” said Janine Pelosi, Zoom CMO. “We believe hybrid models such as the World Finals offer students a possibility to continue to learn, advance and personally grow, regardless of geographical or resource constraints. Our unified communications platform enables new ways of teaching, learning, and working across a variety of educational environments, and we drive to improve excellence, equity, and inclusion for students, faculty and staff.”

The Aramco F1® in Schools World Finals is held with the support of a host of sponsors including Formula 1®, Aramco, Zoom, Autodesk, Denford, FIA Women in Motorsport, The Institution of Engineering and Technology, UCL Engineering and FIA Action for Road Safety.
